For those wondering when our church doors are going to open again, the church was never closed. The work of the people continues in our homes and through different ways. In the June edition of the Good News, the Re-Entry Task Force has shared our preliminary plans and phases for re-opening the church.

As we have made a decision for the health and safety of our community and congregation, Faith will remain closed as a campus. We continue to evaluate with the Governor's Daily Briefing and County protocols and our Re-Entry Task Force has been at work creating a detailed protocol for our church re-opening, whenever that may be. So during this time, we must continue to care for one another and our neighbor by doing no harm, but wearing masks, staying home as much as we can, and connecting with those who may need the extension of Christ's love by a voice, a meal, or a special message/text/note/letter.

As we worship in a different way this Sunday, keep in mind that where two or three are gathered, we worship in Christ's name...and remember that we, as a people of Faith are always united together.

If you have any needs, always feel free to contact the pastors and your ministry leaders!
May the God of Hope and Faith continue to lift us up,

Rev. Allison

Join us for a gathering time where you can just check in to say hi or see church faces that you miss! The kids are still running around as parents are having conversations, and the coffee is still hot (if you just brewed your own pot!). We even have smaller "Break Out rooms" if folks for more conversations!

We’ve made donating to Faith United Methodist Church easier with three ways to give online!

Giving is a response of gratitude rather than a legalistic requirement or obligation. “This most generous God who gives seed to the farmer that becomes bread for your meals is more than extravagant with you. God gives you something you can then give away, which grows into full-formed lives, robust in God, wealthy in every way so that you can be generous in every way…” -2 Corinthians 9:11 (The Message). The goal of giving is for each of us to gratefully leverage and steward all that God has given us in order to become more like Him (generous in every way) and to bless many for the glory of God.

Your pledges and offerings can also be mailed or dropped off at: Faith United Methodist Church – 2115 West 182nd St, Torrance, CA 90504

Or through PayPal or VENMO
PLEASE NOTE –  OUR NEW VENMO HANDLE ADDRESS IS @FaithUMC-SouthBay

For more information contact Rachel Leung at (310) 217-7000 ext 126, finance@faithsouthbay.org.

We are also continuing our mask-making for our community and for Essential Workers. Our tally of "Handsewn with Love" masks is at 950+ masks!

So far, we have donated our masks to the Essential Workers at:
- South Bay Rice Things (30 masks)
- The Local Place (30 masks)
- LOVE INC. (25 masks)
- Immanuel Presbyterian Food Pantry (25 masks) + (another 100 masks)
- Beach Cities Child Development Center (35 masks)

You can still pick up masks for yourself and loved ones at church. Please contact the Church Office and Sandy will set them aside for pick up.

And if you are able to contribute to help serve meals to those who are working on the frontlines, South Bay Rice Things & Faith UMC have partnered together to "Feed Frontline Workers."
You can make a contribution to https://www.gofundme.com/f/feeding-our-frontline-heroes-in-la OR send your check to Faith UMC with the Memo line: Feed Frontline Workers.
