NJAUMC Clergy & Laity Convocation
Aloha All!
This weekend is the National Japanese Caucus Clergy & Laity Convocation! We are so grateful for all of our Faith Community’s support as we are the host site for this celebratory event! Thank you for those who have registered for the convocation and dinner, and a huge amount of gratitude for the many hands that have helped prepare for this weekend!
There are several pieces of important information, regardless if you are attending the convocation or not; this also affects SUNDAY WORSHIP at Faith:
PARKING: THE NIJIYA PARKING LOT IS BEING RESURFACED & RESEALED…
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR US?
Faith’s parking lots (front & back) is open to Faith community, members, & participants (no Nijiya Plaza patron or staff parking) of the convocation only. Alternative overflow parking will be at the HONEYWELL LOT off of VanNess and after the Freeway overpass (between 186th Street & 190th). A shuttle will transport passengers on Friday evening, Saturday morning/afternoon, and Sunday morning.
Click HERE for directions to Honeywell Parking Lot
WEATHER AT THE CELEBRATION DINNER:
For those attending the Celebration Dinner for the Bishops, please dress accordingly and bring your jackets! The event venue is outdoors, we WILL have heat lamps, but keep in mind that the sun goes down at 614pm, the highs in Torrance will be 74 and lows will be in 62.
We are looking forward to seeing you all this weekend for a time of reunions, learning more about the work of the UMC together, and ways to connect and build the church together!
