Faith UMC is an active and vibrant congregation, with energetic worship services and diverse programming designed to support every step of the spiritual journey across ages and generations. Originally established in 1960 by second generation Japanese Americans to minister to the Japanese Americans in the Gardena area, our church has become the spiritual home for a growing multi-ethnic community of believers from across the South Bay, brought together through their strong desire to grow deeper in Christ and to go farther for Christ.

First Time Visitor?

Even if you’ve gone to church for years, visiting a new church can sometimes be an uneasy experience. So, here is a little Faith UMC primer for you:
As you enter the building, most likely you will be greeted with a smile and a handshake (chances are it will be many more than one!) and directed to the sanctuary. (Hint: it’s to the left…bathrooms are to the right).
During worship, we will sing hymns, pray, learn the application of the Word in our lives, and give our gifts of thanksgiving. (Note: If you are new or just visiting, please do not feel obligated to give. Offering is given by our members and friends of Faith who acknowledge the source of all our blessings, and desire to join God in bringing light and hope to our world.)
After worship concludes, we fellowship! Grab a cup of tea or coffee, a cookie or a doughnut, and mingle.  Meet our members, and learn about our various ministries and upcoming events at the various Ministry Faire tables. Maybe you’ll find something that interests you.
Do you have young ones in 5th grade or younger? When you first come in, stop by the Children’s Ministry table as you enter the building to get connected to our Children’s Ministry. Our kids join us in worship first and then are excused to their classrooms after the Children’s Sermon. If you have a young one under 3 years at our 10:30 am service we have our Nursery program, Room 15.
